Voice workshop with Sean o'callaghan - June 2012
Sean is a RADA trained professional actor and worked for some time with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has also been a member of the National Theatre, Shakespeare Globe and has worked extensively in film and television, winning a Best Actor Award at the 2010 Granada Film Festival. It was therefore quite an exciting prospect to work with such a professional and one who regularly gives similar workshops to PGCE students at Keele University.
Sean as Lord Cochrane, in 'Diary of a Residence in Chile,'
a feature film directed in 2011by Valeria Sarmiento.
The vocal warm-ups and games were fun and were aimed at giving us more confidence in our speaking voices and more physical and vocal awareness.
We developed this further with short improvisational sketches. The space we had at our disposal was ideal and added to the no stress, safe and relaxed environment.
The plays of William Shakespeare by Sir John Gilbert
The highlight of the course was performing a short extract from the opening of Shakespeare’s Henry Vth.
As always, Jane was on hand to provide plentiful refreshments and a delicious lunch.
There are several more courses in the pipeline, including an Acupuncture master class and a Five Rhythms Dance weekend workshop.
